Alaska
Alaska is like nowhere else on earth – a unique, pristine wilderness of towering mountains, spectacular glaciers, and magnificent wildlife. With its ports steeped in pioneering history and ancient native traditions, Alaska truly is the last frontier. From whale watching and dog sledding to glacier trekking and helicopter tours, Alaska is the classic destination for those who love the outdoors. In this land of the midnight sun, you’ll need every extra minute of daylight to experience it all. The Alaska cruise season runs from May to September, with high season typically June through August. June, July, and August are the warmest months, but they can also be quite rainy. The further into the summer, the better your chances of seeing wildlife on the various expeditions. These months are the best bet if you want to go fishing as a shore excursion. May and September offer cheaper cruise fares and fewer crowds.
